Historic House Renovation with Furnishings

This beautiful and functional renovation was part of a gorgeous historic home. Our client desperately needed better closet functionality and storage in their master bedroom. During the renovation process we decided to refinish the hardwood floors since we were expanding the closet doorway to two doors and needed to repair the floor anyway. We agreed upon a rich medium brown stain to pair with the new, calm, neutral walls. The custom built-in was a necessity and on the original renovation list. I love how warm and rich the finish came out. It helps bring warmth and life to the neutrals in the room. Our client customized each drawer, shelf, and cubby to their needs inside the closet and the built-in. We measured everything from clothes to purses to ensure everything would fit comfortably, providing ease of access. Toward the end of the project we decided to stretch our use of storage even further - we designed a couple of under bed cubbies with wheels. We love how this bedroom now has a spa-like feel and our clients are able to comfortably maneuver throughout this beautiful 100+ year old home.
